One Extricated After Car Flies Off 605 Fwy | Whittier
04.14.2021 | 12:39 AM | WHITTIER – Emergency crews responded to a call of a vehicle the had flown off the northbound 605 and into a tree near Rose Hills Dr.
One of the passengers walked back up to the freeway and waved for help. Emergency crews found one of the occupants laying on the ground near the vehicle.
The vehicle flew into a tree and landed, the front of the car completely wrapped around the tree. One of the four occupants in the vehicle required extensive extrication by LACoFD.
LACoFD required the assistance of their urban search and rescue heavy rescue, which they used to pull the vehicle away from the tree to extract the one trapped party.
Two people were transported in critical condition to local hospitals and two others had extremely minor injuries and were also transported as a precaution.
The cause of the crash is unknown at this time.
