One Dead, Three Rescued After Human Smuggling Panga Capsizes | San Diego
04.10.2022 | 12:43 AM | SAN DIEGO – San Diego Fire-Rescue Lifeguards along with the US Coast Guard and the US Border Patrol received reports of a capsized Panga boat near the Ocean Beach Pier.
Upon arrival, First Responders learned there were currently 3 people (males) out of possibly 9(unconfirmed) in the water.
Lifeguards managed to rescue 3 males near the Northside of the pier and transported them to UCSD Medical Center.
Approximately an hour and a half later, a fisherman near Dog Beach located a 4th person (male) along the shoreline who was unresponsive.
Lifeguards performed CPR for over 25 minutes until pronouncing the male deceased on the beach.
Lifeguards along with the US Coast Guard continued to search the beach for any more possible victims.
After 5 long hours, the search was called off.
