One Dead, Officers Injured After Terrible Officer Involved Crash

11.20.2020 | 10:47PM | SANTA ANA – A head of crash between a civilian and a Santa and police car occurred at Washington Avenue and Lowell Street. The officer exited the vehicle in visible pain. The driver of the vehicle was forcibly removed from the vehicle and taken into custody. Two officers were transported to the hospital with moderate injuries. The driver of the vehicle was arrested for DUI according to a Santa Ana PD Watch Commander. It is unknown if the passenger of the car was arrested. The passenger of the white sedan was transported to the hospital were he was pronounced deceased. The driver of the white sedan Jesus Emmanuel Perez was arrested at the hospital for felony vehicular manslaughter and DUI. The Santa Ana Police Department’s Collision Investigations Unit (CIU) is handling the investigation. Anyone possibly having information about this collision is asked to contact Inv. N.
