One Dead After Two Sedans Collide At Torrance Intersection

One person was killed in a two-vehicle collision Sunday afternoon in Torrance, with surveillance footage showing one of the vehicles continuing down the roadway before crashing into a tree.

The collision occurred around 12:30 p.m. on September 27, 2026, near Prairie Avenue and Artesia Boulevard.
According to preliminary information, a black sedan collided with a silver sedan. Surveillance footage captured the black sedan continuing forward after the initial impact before striking a tree.

A witness who wished to remain anonymous said she heard a loud crash and came outside to find a person lying on the ground next to the silver sedan. She also witnessed firefighters removing a woman from the black sedan and transporting her to a hospital. The woman’s injuries were unknown.

One person was reported dead following the collision. Authorities had not released the victim’s identity or confirmed which vehicle the deceased person occupied.

Torrance police declined to comment at the scene. Streets surrounding the intersection remained closed while investigators processed the collision, causing significant traffic delays in the area.

The circumstances leading up to the crash remain under investigation.
