One Dead After Man Goes On Destructive Rampage With His Car
NCIDENT DATE/TIME: 8-18-24 | 3:01 a.m.
LOCATION: 2404 San Jacinto
AREA/CITY: Houston
DETAILS:
- Officers were patrolling when they thought they heard gunshots in the air but discovered a pedestrian was struck on the sidewalk.
- Witnesses told officers that the driver was fleeing northbound towards Downtown, the driver was detained in the 1200 block of Jefferson.
- Preliminary information is there was some sort of domestic violence occurring inside of the nightclub. Security staff was able to break it up.
- When he left the establishment, he started to drive around, struck multiple vehicles and then intentionally tried to strike his significant other with the vehicle but missed and struck a bystander instead.
- The victim was pronounced deceased on scene.
- The victim is a female and was the manager of one of the nightclubs in the area and was heading home.
- This might either be investigated by Homicide or Vehicular Crimes (TBD).
