One Dead After Driver Slams Into Tree
10.19.2020 | 7:30 PM | FULLERTON – The passenger in a vehicle that crashed into a tree in Fullerton tonight was killed and the driver hospitalized in critical condition.
Police responded to a single-vehicle crash in the area of West Hill Avenue and South Euclid Street about 7:30 p.m. and found a dark-colored Kia Optima that appeared to be traveling eastbound on Hill Avenue before it crashed into the tree, according to Cpl. B. Phu of the Fullerton Police Department.
Officers located the 27-year-old driver and 28-year-old passenger in the vehicle suffering from serious injuries. Life-saving measures were performed on both until members of the Fullerton Fire Department arrived on scene, Phu said.
The driver was taken to a hospital in critical condition with stable vital signs. The passenger was pronounced dead at the scene, Phu said. Investigators do not suspect any other vehicles were involved and it was unknown if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash, Phu said. The names of the men were not disclosed.
