One Burned In Massive Muscoy Pallet Yard Fire

One person was hospitalized with burn injuries after a large fire tore through a pallet yard and storage area Wednesday afternoon in Muscoy.

The fire was initially reported around 1:30 p.m. on August 19, 2026, after multiple callers reported seeing a large column of black smoke coming from an unknown location in the Muscoy area.

Firefighters arrived near Kern Street and Bronson Street and quickly upgraded the incident to a commercial structure fire as flames burned through a pallet yard and storage area.

The fire also spread into nearby vegetation, but crews were able to quickly stop its forward progress.

At approximately 2:25 p.m., a person suffering from burn injuries approached firefighters at the scene. An ambulance was requested, and the patient was transported to a nearby hospital. The extent of the person’s injuries was not immediately available.

It took firefighters a little over two hours to stop the blaze as crews worked in triple-digit temperatures. Significant mop-up operations were expected to continue following containment of the fire.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
