Officers Rescue Puppy from Stolen Hot Car, Suspects Arrested | National City
02.09.2022 | 9:45 AM | NATIONAL CITY – The Police received a call about a male hitting a female inside of a moving car. Officers found the car and when they ran the plates, the Nissan came back as stolen. The officers attempted to stop the car, and the driver fled for a few blocks before stopping on the opposite side of the street facing the wrong way. Two males and one female got out and fled the vehicle, leaving a 2-3 month puppy inside with the windows up. The Officers formed a perimeter from 23rd St to 25th St, from B Ave to National City Blvd. The male passenger was captured a short distance away. the male driver was found hiding in an alley and was captured. The female was not found. Officers back to the car and were able to open the door and started giving water to the puppy that was beginning to suffer from the heat inside. The male passenger was released since he was a passenger. A female (former girlfriend of the suspect) showed up and the puppy was released to her care.
