Officers Rescue Baby During Barricade

DETAILS:

  1. LAPD & LAFD responded to a report of a stabbing
  2. Officers arrived and verified there was a stabbing that occurred at this location
  3. Officers learned that the suspect went back into her apartment & barricaded
  4. There was a 6-month-old baby girl inside the apartment with the barricaded suspect
  5. It is unclear if the baby was related to the suspect or the victim
  6. The victim of the stabbing is a roommate of the suspect
  7. Officers made entry into the apartment, rescued the baby & were able to get the suspect into custody
  8. Officers asked for paramedics for a 6 month old baby suffering from a bite wound
  9. The female was carried out to a patrol car and placed in the back seat
  10. The suspect then began kicking the window of the police car
  11. Officers also asked for paramedics to take the suspect to the hospital
  12. The status of the victim is unknown at this time
