Officer Shoots At Juvenile Who Pulled a Firearm

INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 3-14-25  | 9:30 p.m.
LOCATION: 11900 Oakmoor Pkwy
AREA/CITY: Houston
DETAILS:

  1. Officers responded to an officer-involved shooting. No officers or suspects were injured in the incident.
  2. Around 8:30 p.m., officers located a stolen vehicle that had been involved in a hit-and-run accident earlier in the day. The hit-and-run victim reported that the individuals inside the stolen vehicle had displayed firearms.
  3. Officers located and followed the vehicle to the 11900 block of Oakmoor Street. At approximately 9:05 p.m., marked units arrived and conducted a traffic stop to take the occupants into custody.
  4. Five individuals were inside the vehicle. Two were taken into custody immediately, while three others fled on foot.
  5. Officers pursued the fleeing individuals, including a juvenile suspect who ran toward Airport Boulevard. The juvenile displayed a firearm,  which led an officer to discharge their weapon at least once.
  6. The juvenile suspect was not struck by gunfire, dropped the firearm, and surrendered to officers.
  7. A K-9 unit was deployed, leading to the apprehension of the two remaining suspects in nearby newly constructed townhomes.
  8. One suspect sustained a minor injury from contact with the K-9 unit. No other injuries were reported.
  9. Officers confirmed that body-worn camera footage captured the suspect displaying a firearm. Per department policy, the footage will be processed and released within 30 days.
  10. The Special Investigations Unit and the Harris County Forensic Science Center are investigating and collecting evidence at the scene.
