Officer-Involved Shooting After Riverside Carjacking Call

At approximately 12:47 a.m. on May 24, 2026, Riverside Police received reports of a possible carjacking vehicle entering the city.

Authorities say the occupants of the vehicle were believed to possibly be armed with firearms.

Officers located the vehicle near Golden Avenue and Campbell Avenue and attempted to make contact with those inside.

During the stop, two suspects reportedly fled from the vehicle on foot, leading officers on a pursuit through the neighborhood.

An officer-involved shooting occurred during the incident.

A large police perimeter was established between Campbell Avenue and Gramercy Place as investigators processed the scene.

Authorities have not yet released information regarding injuries or the circumstances leading up to the shooting.
