Officer Injured in Collision With Pickup Truck

At approximately 7:44am on March 22nd, 2026, Glendale Police and Fire personnel responded to a reported traffic collision involving a police unit near 56th Avenue and West Glendale Avenue in Glendale.

Preliminary information indicated a Glendale Police vehicle was involved in a serious crash with a pickup truck. At least two individuals, including the officer, were transported to local hospitals with conditions that were not immediately disclosed.

Authorities shut down traffic in both directions as officers began their investigation. The incident was possibly connected to a second crash reported just three blocks away on North 51st Avenue, where additional vehicles were involved and multiple people were transported.

A hard closure remained in place between 51st Avenue and 59th Avenue while the investigation continued.
