Oceanside: Woman Cut From Car By Firefighters After High-Speed Crash
07.25.2020 | 8:05 PM | OCEANSIDE – A woman who was pinned in a vehicle after a high-speed crash had to be cut free by firefighters, Saturday night.
Authorities responded to the reported traffic collision in the 4300 block of Mesa Drive around 8:05 PM.
Units arriving on scene located a black 1997 Mercedes-Benz SL coupe that had impacted a tree after departing the roadway.
The driver of the vehicle was able to exit the vehicle but his female passenger was pinned inside.
Firefighters worked for over an hour to cut the woman from the vehicle using the Jaws of Life and other power tools.
Both the male driver and female passenger were airlifted to area hospitals in serious condition.
The cause of the crash is under investigation but speed is believed to be a factor.
