Oceanside: Man Seriously Injured After Train Hits Truck

04.02.2020 | 4:55 PM | OCEANSIDE – A man was seriously injured after a train struck the pickup truck he was driving, Thursday evening.

Authorities responded to reports of a crash involving a white pickup truck and an Amtrak train near the intersection of Cassidy and South Myers streets around 4:55 PM.

Units arriving on scene located a white pickup truck on its roof with major damage after being struck by a train.

The driver of the truck, a male in his 30s, was seriously injured had to be flown to a nearby trauma center in an air ambulance.

It was unclear why the truck was on the railroad tracks wen it was struck.
