Oceanside: Firefighters Rescue Cat From 2-Alarm Apartment Fire

07.23.2020 | 1:54 PM | OCEANSIDE – Firefighters rescued a cat from a burning apartment building, Thursday afternoon.

Authorities responded to reports of a structure fire burning in the 3500 block of Paseo De Los Californianos around 1:54 PM.

Units arriving on scene located a three-story apartment building with heavy smoke showing and began efforts to extinguish the fire.

During their efforts firefighters found a cat inside an apartment and rescued the animal.

The firefighters provided the cat with oxygen and was expected to survive.

Multiple units were damaged by the fire but no injuries to civilians or firefighters were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
