Oceanside: Fiery Freeway Crash Into Tree Leaves One Dead

06.03.2019 | 9:58 PM | OCEANSIDE – One person was dead after a fiery freeway crash, Monday night.

Authorities responded to reports of a traffic collision with fire on the northbound I-5 just north of Harbor around 9:58 PM.

Units arriving on scene located a single vehicle that had apparently struck a tree before becoming engulfed in flames.

Firefighters quickly doused the flames but the solo occupant was unable to escape and pronounced deceased on scene.

Several lanes were closed while authorities worked to investigated the circumstances surrounding the crash.
