Oak Fire Explodes With Extreme Behavior at Sunrise | Mariposa

07.23.2022 | 9:00 AM | MARIPOSA –The Oak Fire exploded Just after sunrise and immediately started to display the characteristics of extreme fire behavior.

Fire Fighters quickly mobilized and groups of engines began to flood into the neighborhood in the path of the fire.

Many of the fire fighters explained they were astonished to see such fire behavior so early in the morning.

With wind fanning the flames cause the fire to begin to rage, it was suddenly apparent that there was a second wind coming from the opposite direction that was actually being created by the fire and smoke itself.

Propane tanks could be heard exploding one by one.

60 – 80 walls of flames could be seen and the heat felt from over 200 yards away.

Fire fighters staged at various houses and began to make there stand to keep the fire off of the homes they were protecting

as of 30 mins ago there was a strong success in structure protection all though the exact number of homes lost or saved is unknown.

The fire is making a push towards hwy 140 and they are bracing for imminent impact.
