Numerous Water Rescues Performed By Firefighters/Lifeguards As Major Flooding Hits Neighborhood

- San Diego Fire-Rescue along with several mutual aid agencies with the assistance of San Diego Fire-Rescue Lifeguards responded to numerous water rescue calls in the neighborhood of Southcrest.
- The neighborhood was hit by major flooding due to the rains.
- Firefighters and Lifeguards helped dozens of residents from their homes as floodwaters reached up to 7 feet in some areas of the neighborhood.
- Good Samaritans also helped rescue many trapped residents and their animals from their homes by using their personal Jet Skis and canoes.
- Some residents had to escape the waters by climbing on top of their roofs and vehicles.
- Multiple people have been taken to the hospital after suffering from hypothermia.
- The floodwaters also damaged numerous vehicles and residences in the neighborhood.
