Norwalk: Man Caught Attempting To Kidnap Child

11.29.2018 | 3:40 PM | NORWALK – A man was in custody after attempting to abduct a girl walking home from school, Thursday afternoon.

Deputies responded to the 14700 block of Elmcroft Avenue around 3:40 PM regarding reports of an attempted kidnapping.

Units arriving on scene and quickly learned that a girl walking home from the Lampton Elementary School was approached by a man who grabbed her.

The girl was able to alert bystanders and get away but the suspect fled.

Authorities established a perimeter and quickly honed in on the suspect who was identified by both the victim and other witnesses.

Deputies placed the man under arrest and are expected to file kidnapping charges.
