Norwalk: LAPD Motor Officer Hurt After Freeway Crash

03.24.2020 | 10:49 PM | NORWALK – An off-duty LAPD motor officer was injured after crashing on a freeway transition road, Tuesday night.

Authorities responded to reports of a motor officer down on the eastbound I-105 Freeway transition road to the northbound I-605 Freeway around 10:49 PM.

Units arriving on scene located the downed officer being assisted by good samaritans.

Firefighter paramedics treated the officer on scene before transporting him to an area hospital in unknown condition.

The officer was riding a marked Los Angeles Police Department motorcycle but was off-duty at the time of the crash.

Initial reports indicate the motor officer may have been cut off by another vehicle causing him to lose control.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
