NORTHRIDGE LAPD OIS Armed Standoff

DETAILS:
- LAPD put out an officer needs help shots fired call.
- LAPD was in a standoff with an armed man who was in front of his house.
- Two of his kids were inside the home at the time of the shooting.
- A woman later came and tried to convince him to drop the gun and give up.
- LAPD, after some time talking to the suspect, the man gave up.
- The man suffered a gunshot wound to his leg.
- LAFD transported the man to the hospital in unknown condition.
- LAPD command staff and detectives are slowly arriving at the scene.
- The gun remains were where the man left it, and officers were instructed not to touch the weapon.
- LAPD allowed the mother of the kids to enter the house to make sure the two kids were safe. She walked out holding her chest, relieved.
- The incident occurred across from CSUN school. Officers from the school are also at the scene talking with LAPD.
