North Hollywood: Major Fire Rips Through Dollar Deluxe

04.16.2020 | 1:02 AM | LOS ANGELES – A major fire ripped through a discount store for at least an hour destroying the building and contents inside, early Thursday morning.

Authorities responded to reports of a commercial structure fire burning at the Dollar Deluxe located in the 12000 block of Victory Boulevard in the North Hollywood area around 1:02 AM.

Crews arriving on scene located a single-story commercial with a smoke and fire showing and initiated an aggressive fire attack.

Due to the significant fire load and risk of a roof collapse, firefighters doused the flames from the outside for nearly an hour before the bulk of the flames were extinguished.

No injuries were reported but the 8,111-square-foot building and its contents were destroyed by the intense flames.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
