North Hills: Woman Killed By Driver Who Fled On Foot
10.20.2019 | 5:20 AM | LOS ANGELES – A woman was dead after being struck by a driver who ran a red light and then fled the scene on foot, Sunday morning.
Authorities responded to reports of a traffic collision with a person possibly trapped near the intersection of Balboa Boulevard and Lassen Street in the North Hills area around 5:20 AM.
Units arriving on scene located a two-vehicle traffic collision involving a pickup truck and a grey sedan with a female driver trapped inside the sedan.
Firefighter paramedics worked to free the trapped woman, described as a female hispanic in her 50s, but she was pronounced deceased on scene.
The driver of the pickup truck reportedly fled the scene on foot. Authorities described her as a woman possibly in her 40s who may be a nearby resident.
Officers cordoned off the scene of the crash while they investigated and searched for the hit-and-run driver.
