North Hills: Firefighters Rescue Trapped Men After Fatal Freeway Crash

07.19.2019 | 3:22 AM | NORTH HILLS – Firefighters used the Jaws of Life and hydraulic jacks to free two men who became trapped after a fatal rollover freeway crash, early Friday morning.

Authorities responded to reports of a rollover traffic collision on the southbound I-405 Freeway near Roscoe Boulevard around 3:22 AM.

Units arriving on scene located a vehicle down a ditch on its side with a male pinned under the vehicle and another trapped inside.

Firefighters utilized the Jaws of Life to free the victim trapped inside the vehicle before enlisting hydraulic jacks to retrieve the man pinned beneath the vehicle.

Unfortunately, the pinned male succumbed to his injured and was pronounced deceased on scene.

The trapped occupant was treated on scene before being transported to an area hospital in unknown condition.
