North Hills: Driver Flees After Shearing Gas Pump In Crash

02.23.2020 | 3:01 AM | LOS ANGELES – Police are searching for a driver who ditched their vehicle in a crash that sheared a gas pump causing a fuel spill, early Sunday morning.

Authorities responded to reports of a traffic collision involving a gas pump at the Mobil Gas Station located in the 9100 block of Sepulveda Boulevard in the North Hills area around 3:01 AM.

Untis arriving on scene located a black Ford pickup truck that had sheared a gas pump causing a fuel spill.

Firefighters worked to mitigate the hazard caused by the spill and shut off the gas pumps.

The driver of the truck reportedly fled the scene on foot after crashing and was not immediately located.

The circumstances surrounding the crash and the identity of the suspect remains under investigation.
