Newhall: Vehicle Fire Spreads To Nearby Brush

07.26.2019 |  8:15 PM | NEWHALL – A car fire spread to nearby brush off a local freeway ultimately burning nearly 2 acres, Friday evening.

Authorities responded to reports of a vehicle fire along the northbound I-15 just north of the I-5 Freeway around 8:15 PM.

Units arriving on scene located a small compact care engulfed in flames with fire spreading to nearby brush.

Crews quickly deployed a hose line and began attacking fire fire.

Within 30 minutes crews had the flames under control but not before the fire had scorched nearly 2 acres.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the vehicle fire remains under investigation.
