Newhall: Driver Dead After Slamming Into Parked Big Rig

01.23.2020 | 1:06 AM | LOS ANGELES – A driver was dead after slamming into a parked big rig, early Thursday morning.

Authorities responded to reports of a traffic collision involving a big rig with a party possibly trapped on the SR-14 Freeway near the southbound I-5 Freeway interchange in the Newhall area around 1:06 AM.

Units arriving on scene located a white Toyota Civic that had become lodged under the trailer of a parked big rig.

The driver of the vehicle was pronounced deceased on scene by firefighter paramedics.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
