National City: Sailor Extricated From Car After Crash

11.28.2018 | 2:46 PM | NATIONAL CITY – A U.S. sailor had to be cut free after becoming trapped in the wreckage of a crash, Tuesday afternoon.

Police and fire officials responded to the reported injury traffic collision at the intersection or Harbor Drive and 8th Street around 2:45 PM.

Units arriving on scene of the crash located two vehicles involved with the driver of one vehicle, described as a U.S. Navy sailor, trapped inside.

Crews used the jaws of life and other power tools to cut the trapped sailor from the wreckage before he was transported to an area hospital.

The driver of the other involved vehicle was not injured.

There was no word on the cause of the crash however police had the intersection closed while they investigated.
