National City: Business Closed After Car Crashes Into Building

11.12.2018 | 11:42 AM | NATIONAL CITY – A business was closed after a vehicle came smashing into the establishment, Monday afternoon.

Police and fire responded around 11:42 AM to the 300 block of East 8th Street regarding reports of a vehicle that struck a structure.

Units arriving on scene discovered mid-size sedan that had struck a local hair salon for kids. The driver was uninjured however the building suffered substantial structural damage.

A building inspector red-tagged the building, effectively shutting down the business, due to the structural damage.

The driver reported he was reversing too fast and attempted to brake but mistook the brake pedal, causing him to reverse directly into the building.
