Multiple Puppies Rescued From House Fire

DETAILS:

  1. Phoenix Fire crews responded to reports of a house fire near the 10200 block of North 36th Avenue around 11:00 PM.
  2. Upon arrival, crews found smoke and flames coming from the roof of a single story residential structure.
  3. Firefighters confirmed that the residents had safely evacuated shortly before their arrival.
  4. Fire crews quickly secured a water supply and made entry for search, rescue and fire attack.
  5. Additional crews began making access into the attic space through an exterior vent to better access the main body of fire.
  6. Firefighters rescued several puppies from inside the residence.
  7. 2 occupants and at least 8 dogs have been displaced as a result of the fire.
  8. Next door neighbor, Lisa McMahon, stated her sons noticed the fireworks outside followed by the neighbors house on fire. McMahon grabbed her garden hose and began spraying water into the neighbors attic vent in an attempt to quell the flames.
  9. Luckily, no injuries have been reported and fire crews were able to quickly extinguish the blaze before it could spread to any nearby properties.
  10. Fire investigators are currently working to determine exactly what caused the fire.
