Multiple Pets Deceased and Rescued from Sweltering Vehicles in Las Vegas

DETAILS:
- Multiple animals were found inside a vehicle Tuesday afternoon in the northwest valley, according to Las Vegas Metropolitan Police.
- At about 3 p.m., LVMPD responded to the 3100 block of N. Tenaya Way near Cheyenne Avenue after initial reports of a dog locked inside a U-Haul. When officers arrived, they rescued the dog.
- Multiple cats were rescued from a second vehicle, which was a red SUV in the same parking lot.
- Through the course of the investigation, officers located seven dogs, small and large breeds, dead in the back of the truck.
- Police said the owner of the dogs is in custody.
