Multiple Dogs Rescued From Structure Fire

DETAILS:

  1. Phoenix Fire crews responded to reports of a structure fire.
  2. Upon arrival, firefighters found heavy smoke coming from a strip mall.
  3. The assignment was quickly balanced to a working fire.
  4. Crews pulled multiple hose lines and forced entry into multiple businesses.
  5. Per a Phoenix Fire Captain on scene, one of the businesses was occupied by an adult female and multiple animals at the time of the fire.
  6. The woman was able to safely evacuate but the animals were still inside.
  7. Fire crews rescued 4 dogs from the occupied business.
  8. 1 of the 4 dogs was unresponsive upon rescue.
  9. Phoenix Fire crews utilized the Fido Bag on all 4 dogs.
  10. The unresponsive dog was successfully resuscitated following oxygen treatment from the Fido Bag.
  11. The remaining 3 dogs were treated with the Fido Bag as a precaution.
  12. 1 pet bird and a chinchilla were found deceased inside the fire occupancy.
