Multi-Vehicle Crash Shuts Down The Freeway In Riverside

DETAILS:
- California Highway Patrol, Riverside and Cal Fire Riverside County responded to a reported traffic collision on the freeway near a work zone.
- When they arrived, they found 6 vehicles that were involved, with one over turned vehicle and one patient who was trapped and needed a minor extrication.
- At this time it appears that it began with two vehicles being involved in a crash and then multiple others got involved.
- According to witnesses/people involved, they said the white truck was traveling at a high rate of speed and went through the work zone and hit multiple vehicles.
- There were a total of 7 patients, 4 were transported to local area hospitals with unknown injuries.
- There were a total of 6 vehicles involved.
- CHP issued a SIG alert that lasted an hour.
