Multi-Vehicle Collision Causes Fiery Scene on NB I-5 in Orange

DETAILS:
- Just before 1:30 Sunday Morning, a report of a stalled car sent units from the California Highway Patrol to the northbound lanes of Interstate 5 at Chapman in Orange.
- While en route, the stalled car was collided into by two vehicles.
- One of the three vehicles burst into flames and was fully engulfed when a news photographer arrived.
- Units from the Orange Police and Fire Departments arrived to assist while the CHP was on the way.
- One driver was trapped in his vehicle for approximately 20 minutes while firefighters worked to extricate them.
- One other person was transported to UCI Medical Center for treatment in an unknown condition.
- The trapped driver was also transported to UCI in an unknown condition.
- The third driver was not injured and spoke to CHP officers about the incident.
- All lanes except for the HOV lane will be closed for the next few hours for the investigation.
