There were 7 in our group. We were headed to Everest Base camp, but the weather kept deteriorating, until it was total white out conditions. We made it as far as Thukla, when we were told we had to turn around. We were 9 km to Base camp. The weather is clear today and there have been rescue helicopters back-and-forth all day long. We have a 10 hour hike back down to where we plan to spend the night in Namche. We are currently stopped for a water and snack break in Tyangboche. Eventually, we will make it down to the town of Lukla, where we hope to be able to get a flight, from the world’s most dangerous airport, into Kathmandu.
