Motorcyclist Killed After Pursuit Ends In Crash

A motorcycle pursuit ended in tragedy early Wednesday morning when the rider was involved in a fatal crash in Iowa Colony.

At approximately 1:00 a.m. on July 29, 2026, emergency crews responded to State Highway 288 near Meridiana Parkway after reports of a major traffic collision involving a motorcycle and a sedan.

According to radio traffic, the motorcycle was being pursued before it collided with the sedan. Preliminary information indicates the pursuing agency may have been the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office, though that has not been officially confirmed.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not yet released the identity of the deceased or confirmed whether it was the motorcyclist.
