Motorcyclist Killed After Crashing Into Donkey

LOCATION: Riche Canyon Rd, South of Center St
AREA/CITY: Moreno Valley
DETAILS:

1. On December 30th, 2023, at about 1:17 AM, Riverside CHP, Riverside CalFire, Colton Fire, and AMR responded to a reported traffic collision involving a donkey on Riche Canyon Rd near Center St.
2. Upon arrival, first responders located a motorcycle rider and a deceased donkey in the lanes.
3. The rider was pronounced deceased at the scene.
4. After searching the area for the rider’s motorcycle, it was finally located about 500 Feet from the crash in the yard of a nearby home.
5. Both directions of Riche Canyon are closed while CHP investigates the crash.
6. According to bystanders, the rider possibly lived in the area.
