Motorcyclist Airlifted After Major Crash

LOCATION: 21555 Katy Fwy

DETAILS:
- HCSO, Precinct 5 and ESD 48 responded to reports of a fiery crash
- first arriving unit located a white car on fire with a motorcycle underneath it
- The occupant of the car was able to exit
- the motorcycle rider was located near the original point of collision
- Male motorcycle rider was taken downtown via lifeflight. He was wearing a helmet, and is expected to survive
- Female driver of the car is suspected of impairment, FSTs were still being administered when I left
- Investigators measured the distance from impact to where the car stopped, and it is approximately 400 yards from impact to resting
- There was no HCSO VCD Supervisor available to come on camera, but all info provided by investigators on scene. I needed to leave for another crash before they were available to come on camera
