Motorcyclist Air Lifted After Flying 100 Feet Off Bridge

- An absolutely dramatic air rescue took place in crestline this evening after a motorcyclist lost control of his bike and crashed into the guard rail and tumbled over 100 ft down a cliff and survived.
- At around 5:30 PM, first responders were dispatched to reports of a motorcycle crash with a possible victim being thrown over the bridge on impact.
- Upon arriving on scene, the found a single dirt bike on the right hand side of the down bound lane with several other dirt bike riders flagging down first responders.
- Firefighters found that the victim was at about 100ft down under the bridge with serious injuries.
- The victims friends whom also were witnesses stated that the rider hit the guard rail after loosing control, flew threw the guard rail and tumbled over 100 ft down a cliff and landed into a running rocky creek bed under the opposite side of the bridge.
- When fire fighters made contact with the victim they found the victim with serious traumatic injuries but was alive.
- The victim was in a very tricky rescue location and the decision was made to air lift the victim.
- A lengthy air rescue was set in place as fire fighters had to drop a hoist on the opposite side of the bridge and hike down the drainage into the ravine to access the victim.
- after packaging the victim into the litter, they hiked over 100 ft up hill with the victim.
- The helicopter hoisted the victim and the crew up and transported the victim to loma linda.
