Motorcycle Pursuit Ends in Arrest | San Diego
10.14.2022 | 9:00 PM | SAN DIEGO – There has been a growing trend of motorcyclists riding in large groups on city streets on dirt bikes and ATVs illegally.
Tonight, officers spotted approx 15 motorcyclists in the Shell Town area riding on the city street with their lights out and many of the motorcycles did not have license plates.
Officers started to follow and the group took off.
Two of the riders separated from the others and the officers recognized one of the riders as a person who was wanted on warrants.
The pursuit began through the streets with the two bikers still blacked out.
Once the SDPD ABLE helicopter got overhead, the officers backed off as the pursuit went into the Legacy Walk area of San Diego.
The rider eventually stopped behind a Taco shop at s. 47th St and Logan Ave and ran down an alley.
The suspect never realized that the helicopter was watching him as he hid behind a trash dumpster.
Officers arrived and took the suspect into custody.
Officers found that the suspect had vomited inside of his helmet and this may be the reason why he stopped.
