Motor Flies 150 Feet From Car in Crash

LOCATION: SB 215, North Mount Vernon/27th St off Ramp
AREA/CITY: San Bernardino
DETAILS:

  1. On October 10th, 2024, at about 1:27 AM, CHP responded to an iPhone crash notification on the North Mount Vernon Off Ramp of the Southbound 215 Freeway.
  2. CHP arrived at the scene and located a sedan with major damage, with the driver trapped inside.
  3. San Bernardino County Fire arrived and extricated the driver.
  4. They were transported with unknown injuries to a local hospital.
  5. It’s believed that the vehicle was on the Eastbound 210 Freeway transition to the Southbound 215 Freeway when, for unknown reasons, it left the roadway and came to rest on the Mount Vernon Off-Ramp.
  6. The engine of the vehicle was located about 150 Feet from the car.
  7. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
