Montebello: Fiery Pursuit Crash Totals Three Parked Cars

08.08.2019 | 11:45 PM | MONTEBELLO – A pursuit ended in a fiery crash that destroyed at least three parked vehicles, late Thursday night.

Bell Gardens police officers attempted to stop a white Dodge Challenger shortly before midnight.

The driver of the vehicle flashed gang signs at the officers before taking off at speeds in excess of 80 MPH.

A short pursuit ensued before the suspect lost control of his vehicle and struck a row of parked cars.

The force of the collision caused the suspect’s vehicle to become engulfed in flames.

Officers quickly arrested the driver who tried to flee on foot while firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze.

At least three parked vehicles were seriously damaged as a result of the crash.
