Mission Hills: Woman Fatally Struck By Car After Attacking Uber Driver On Freeway

04.11.2020 | 12:30 AM | LOS ANGELES – A woman who assaulted her Uber driver and attempted to steal his vehicle was killed after running across lanes on a freeway, early Saturday morning.

Authorities responded to reports of a fight involving an Uber driver on the eastbound SR-118 Freeway just east of Sepulveda Boulevard in the Mission Hills area around 12:30 AM.

While responding units were advised that the woman had assaulted the Uber driver, breaking his glasses and causing small cuts, who then tried to physically remove her from the vehicle.

While attempting to remove her from the vehicle, the woman climbed into the driver’s seat and tried to flee before the driver took away the keys.

Moments later the woman reportedly ran into active lanes of the freeway and was struck by several vehicles including a 2008 Nissan Altima.

Firefighter paramedics pronounced the women deceased no scene from obvious trauma and treated the Uber driver for cuts sustained during the scuffle.

All lanes of the eastbound SR-118 Freeway were closed for at least two hours while authorities worked to clear the scene.

The sequence of events that lead to the fatal collision remains under investigation.
