Media Saves Puppy From Homeless Fire

DETAILS:
- On July 26th, 2025, at about 1:33 AM, San Bernardino County Fire responded to a fire in the wash under West Orange Show Road, East of South Arrowhead Avenue in San Bernardino.
- Firefighters located a large homeless encampment fire burning under the bridge.
- While media personnel were filming, they heard a whimper of a dog somewhere under the bridge.
- While the fire was being extinguished and the heat was dissipating, a dog was located within the encampment. A cameraman picked up the small puppy and took it back up to the road, where water was provided.
- The dog was surrendered to the San Bernardino PD.
- The fire was extinguished, but it’s unknown if the bridge suffered any structural damage due to the extreme heat.
- It’s unknown if anyone was found within the fire or who the dog belonged to.
