Massive Fire Engulfs Former Restaurant in Lakewood

INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 2-22-2026 11pm
LOCATION: 5809 Lakewood Blvd. / South Street (Panchos Heritage Mexican & American Food)
AREA/CITY: Lakewood
DETAILS:

  1. LACOFD responded to reports of a commercial fire with smoke showing
  2. Upon arrival, units found the building to be fully engulfed in flames
  3. Batallion chief quickly deemed the incident a major hazard and requested a second alarm, and for all incoming units to remain defensive
  4. The building continued to burn into the morning and still hasnt been completely knocked down
  5. The building is the closed restraunt of Panchos Heritage Mexican & American Food
  6. The cause of the fire is unknown
  7. LACOFD has requested a dozer crew to respond to the scene in anticipation of a full collapse
  8. LASD responded to the scene and blocked the intersection, it remains blocked for an unknown duration.
