1. LAFD & LAPD responded to an ambulance shooting
2. Officers arrived to find a man sitting in a blue Chevy SUV that had been shot in the leg/butt
3. The male stated he accidentally shot himself
4. He also told officers he was a Lance Corporal in the Marines
5. A shell casing was recovered at the scene
6. LAFD paramedics transported the male to California hospital
7. The LAPD is handling the investigation
