Marina del Rey: Captain Arrested After Running Boat Aground

09.29.2019 | 8:00 PM | MARINA DEL REY – The captain of a 40-foot yacht was arrested on suspicion of boating under the influence after running aground, Sunday night.

Authorities responded to reports of a vessel that had ran aground on a beach near the 5000 block of Ocean Front Walk around 8:00 PM.

Units arriving on scene located a 40-foot yacht dubbed the “Lurker” that had run aground onto a beach with two occupants on board.

Both individuals were uninjured but the captain of the vessel was placed into custody on suspicion of boating under the influence.

Officials are working to remove the boat from the beach.
