Man Survives Stabbing & Crash After Attempted Car Jacking | National City

09.29.2021 | 12:21 AM | SAN DIEGO – The male driver of the silver truck had just gotten gas down the street off of G St and for an unknown reason, started to give another male a ride. As the victim was driving southbound down 17th St., the passenger told the man to stop and get out of the truck and that he was taking the truck. When the victim did not comply, the suspect started to stab the victim repeatedly. The victim crashed into two parked vehicles. The suspect fled on foot. The victim was critically injured and was rushed to a local hospital. After surgery, he is expected to live. 17th St and Island Ave has been closed for the investigation (5:00 am still closed).
