Man Struck While Retrieving Lost Wheel on I-8 | Heroic Good Samaritans Block Traffic

LOCATION: EB I-8 @ Taylor St onramp
CITY: San Diego
DETAILS:

1. For unknown reasons, the male driver of the white Nissan lost his front left wheel of the car while driving eastbound on the eastbound I-8.
2. He pulled over to the right shoulder.
3. The man then got out of his vehicle and went to retrieve the wheel which was in the traffic lanes.
4. With other drivers swerving around the wheel.
5. The male driver of the red Honda then hit the man.
6. The victim was sent flying onto the right shoulder.
7. The male has major injuries and was transported to UCSD.
8. The other driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating.
9. Good Samaritans also stopped helping the victim and blocked traffic.
