Man Steals Pickup, Crashes it, Attempts to Steal A Second Car Before Capture

- Two men were at the Action Sports Kayak Rental business at Dana Landing, getting ready to go fishing, when the owner of the blue Chevy Silverado heard his truck engine start. The male suspect got inside and took off with the owner and another male chasing it.
- The owner’s friend jumped into his vehicle and pursued the thief.
- The suspect left Mission Bay and went into Ocean Beach.
- The suspect realized he was being followed and went the wrong direction to avoid traffic at Sunset Cliffs Blvd & West Point. Loma Blvd.
- He hit two innocent victims’ vehicles and was ramming a white truck to get through.
- After making it through, he went the wrong way towards the Sunset Cliffs Bridge and stopped at the bridge since traffic was at a dead stop.
- He jumped out and ran over the bridge and the San Diego River to the Marina Village area on Quivara Road.
- He found another fisherman’s car and jumped into it.
- The fisherman saw him and yelled at the suspect to “get out of my car”.
- The suspect had the man’s phone and said, “I have a gun, give me your keys, I’m on the run.”
- Another Good Samaritan came up behind the suspect and took him down.
- The Police arrived and arrested the male.
- He will be facing multiple felony charges.
